Hi,

MP backs cat rescuer

Section

An MP (Keith Hill) has come to the defence of a cat lover told by a town hall to move her weekly fundraising stall away from a high road. Lambeth council ordered 72-year-old Dawn Travers from her spot outside the Odeon cinema in Streatham High Road to nearby Gracefield Gardens. The money she raises goes toward feeding her sick and injured cats. ... Following MR Hill's support, the council said she could return to the high road, as long as she did not too take up too much spare.

Belinda

Section

Belinda is one of the few female cats in the shelter. She is quite alert to stranger. However, if you approach her slowly and get used to you, she becomes friendly to you. she loves some massage on her bump. She is looking for a patient owner and preferrably home without children.

Pumpkin

Section

Pumpkin comes to the shelter because his owners had a family problem. He is a very playful and adorable cat. He sat on my thigh even we only just met, but later he ran away with his friends and ran around in the shelter. He has a very thick and beautiful tails like those norwegian forest cat. He is healthy and currently looking for a new home. He is a very lovely cat and everyone love him.

little kitty in the bathroom

Section

This little kitty was kept inside the shelter's bathroom as I was told he needs to be away from those big cats just in case they may treat this little kitty as an intruder and beat him. This little boy is very chatty and sporty. He first greeted me with a few "meow" and then started to climb from my feet to my chest while I was talking to William in the shelter. He is currenly looking for a new home.

Please help me to keep cat sanctuary going, say Dawn - 24/09/2009 The Post

......Dawn Trevors runs the Streatham Cats Rescue Group in Hillside Road, which is home to about 50 stray and sick cats.
To pay for their food and vets' bills, she and a team of volunteers sell bric-a-brac and second-hand goods from a stall outside the odeon in Streatham High Road every Saturday.
But from the past nine weeks her spot has been cordoned off while council carries out maintenance work.
